Work with your horse on the ground to ensure they have the skills needed for lateral work: shoulder in, counter shoulder in, renvers, travers, and half pass. Both you and your horse will improve in your mental understanding of the exercises while increasing your physical comfort with each movement. These exercises are not just for dressage. They will help address asymmetries and support straightness, balance, strength, and responsiveness for any equine partner.
Since 1984, Franklin Method® has provided a scientifically proven student-centered approach to develop dynamic alignment and efficient body movement. Franklin Method ® Equestrain helps riders develop functional movement patterns either in or out of the saddle by providing increased sensory input through ball and band work. Riders will learn how their muscles and joints work together through embodied movement exercises and dynamic imagery practices. This knowledge will allow them to develop a more adaptive and responsive riding position that can move with their horse resulting in balanced, easeful riding.
Clinics focus can be customized to focus on one or more of the following areas:
Learn how to utilize Franklin Balls and Bands to sit deeper, move better, and improve your posture and alignment.
Learn how your pelvis is designed and how it works to improve your ride. Leave with imagery and exercises you can use everyday to enhance strength, stability, balance, and mobility on and off the horse. Areas of focus include the pelvis, hip joints, pelvic half, and sacrum.
Learn how your spine is designed to move and help you ride. Leave with imagery and exercises you can use everyday to enhance strength, stability, and mobility. Areas of focus include the spine, joints, discs, and central axis.
Learn what muscle groups make up your core and why it needs dynamic movement to create stability when you ride. Leave with imagery and exercises you can use everyday to feel balanced and strong.
Learn how the diaphragm works during breathing, how it provides core stability while riding, and why engaging or bracing your core restricts your breathing and your ability to move with your horse. Leave with imagery and exercises you can use everyday to improve your breathing and core stability on and off the horse.
